Pediatric Dentistry is a specialty area of dentistry that deals with the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and special needs patients. The Pediatric Dentist has advanced education and a special understanding of the oral development and disease processes of children. Communicating with children at their level is particularly important as it helps children feel as comfortable as possible about their visits to the dentist.  Pediatric Dentists provide the full spectrum of dental services for the growing child.

Western New York Dental Group's general dentists care for the dental needs of children and families at each of our offices with specialists in pediatric dentistry at select offices. Dr. Toby Corcoran welcomes children at the Depew and Orchard Park offices.  Dr. Meggy Kemshetti practices at the Greece and Henrietta offices.  They are board certified specialists who, together with their team, are committed to providing the dental care needed to give children a healthy happy smile for a lifetime. 

Our goal is to help children feel good about visiting the dentist and to teach them to properly care for their teeth.  Good oral health is an important part of total health which is why it is important to establish a dental home by the time a child's first tooth erupts, or no later than one year of age. Children with healthy teeth chew food easily, learn to speak clearly and smile with confidence! 

Our pediatric services include:  customized preventive oral health programs including sealants,  comprehensive dental care including extractions and tooth colored fillings, assessment and treatment of oral diseases, conditions and trauma, education about the proper care of children's teeth and soft tissue, guidance about growth and development, information about diet and nutrition, nerve treatment for primary teeth and custom mouthguards.  We offer in office nitrous sedation and perform general anesthesia at Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo.  The pediatric staff is available for interactive dental health programs for schools, preschools and daycares. 

At Western New York Dental Group, our Orthodontists are part of the pediatric team.   Dr. Gideon Fersztman sees patients at our Depew, Orchard Park and Getzville offices.  Dr. Edwin Jauch is at our Orchard Park office.  In Rochester, Dr. James Gleason sees patients at both the Greece and Henrietta offices.
